About Verdal municipality

Verdal is a municipality situated in the county of Trøndelag, in the central part of Norway. Approximately 15 000 people live here.

Verdal is traditionally an agricultural community, but after the establishment of Aker Verdal (now Aker Solutions) at the end of the sixties, it has become an industrial center in the middle part of Norway. Verdal industrial park is the country's third largest and an important factor in explaining the municipality's strong prosperity and population growth over the past 50 years.

Verdal is particularly known for its cultural life, not least a strong amateur theater environment that has nurtured several of Norway's most famous actors.

The Saint Olav Drama is a historic outdoor theatre that is performed every summer during the Olsok days at Stiklestad National Cultural Center.
